Roof Warranty Guide
Understand material and workmanship coverage as separate terms. Product choice, installation conditions, maintenance and the actual written agreement matter.
Know which part of the roof is covered
A roof warranty has a scope, conditions and a party responsible for it. A manufacturer’s product warranty and a contractor’s workmanship terms answer different problems. A long term printed beside a product name does not describe every roof-related expense.
The exact product and contractor agreement establish what is offered for a particular project. This website does not invent a warranty term or transfer another company’s coverage to your roof.

Material and workmanship coverage
Read each type against the part of the work it addresses.
Material coverage
A manufacturer’s terms address specified product issues and can contain registration, installation and other conditions. Labor, tear-off and disposal treatment vary by the actual warranty.
Workmanship terms
The contractor’s terms address the installation work they specify. Duration, exclusions and the claim process belong to that agreement.
Keep the roof record useful
A clear record helps establish which product and work are involved if a question comes up later.
Product and assembly
Retain the selected product details and the scope covering underlayment, flashing and ventilation.
Project and payment record
Keep the agreement and records identifying the contractor, work date and any stated coverage terms.
Later roof changes
Equipment work, new penetrations and repairs can affect the roof and the applicable terms. The offering party determines how its warranty applies.
